Internet Money, Lil Tecca & A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s “Somebody” Explained | Song Stories

[HOST] Production house Internet Money links
up with New York’s Lil Tecca and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie for the lovelorn cut, “Somebody.” [HOST] “Somebody” is produced by Nick
Mira and Taz Taylor of Internet Money. This is Internet Money’s first single since
announcing their joint venture with 10k Projects in early October– the same label behind 6ix9ine’s
latest deal. [HOST] “Somebody” is Tecca’s first collaboration
with A Boogie. In the lead up to the track’s release, Boogie
posted a photo of the duo from the shoot with the caption reading quote. [HOST] I love to see NY go up
[HOST] Internet Money’s Mira and Taylor are behind a slew of hits including Juice
WRLD’s “Lucid Dreams,” and “All Girls Are The Same” as well as Lil Tecca’s Billboard
Hot 100 top 5 hit, “Ransom.” [HOST] On the song, Tecca references Chief
Keef’s “Love Sosa.” [HOST] In the past, Tecca’s shared that
Chief Keef along with Speaker Knockerz highly influenced him. TECCA: My biggest musical inspiration is Speaker
Knockerz, Chief Keef and that’s it. [HOST] On the chorus, Tecca talks about wanting
someone to love… [HOST] …but he did tell us that he’s all
square on the love front. [TECCA] I have a girlfriend I don’t have
no young ladies. Don’t DM me. That’s dubs
[HOST] On the second verse, A Boogie alludes to his first name Artist and possibly his
2016 song, “Jungle,” a nickname for his neighborhood of Highbridge in the Bronx, NY. [HOST] The music video is directed by Trey
Lyons, known for his recent work with Kehlani and Jasiah, shows Boogie and Tecca crashing
a wedding–to the guests’ eventual delight. [HOST] Fans are really into this record and
the music video’s racked up more than 3 million views in just a few days. [HOST] If you want to find out more about
